Russia (Stockholm)

The Hague Convention
Member of the Hague Convention.

Comments
– Russia has adopted the Hague Convention regarding the abolishment of legalisation of foreign general documents.
– The purpose of the convention is to abolish the requirement for diplomatic or consular legalisation of foreign general documents.
– This procedure shall be replaced by a unified and simple certification issued by a qualified authority in the country from which the documents originate.
– Instead of the general documents being legalised by the embassy or consulate, an APOSTILLE will be issued by a Notary Public.
– In order for a Notary Public to be able to issue an apostille, the document must first be notarised.
– The Notary Public that Comet engages can assist with both notarisation and apostille!

Note:
In Sweden, as of 1 January 2005, ONLY Notary Publics have the right to issue an apostille.

Apostille
– Issued by a Notary Public.
