New start date for new requirement at the Angolan Embassy

As of 12th of September the Embassy of Angola will require fingerprints from all visa applicants. Fingerprints must be given in person at the Embassy in Stockholm. Please note that fingerprints must be given only once and not every time a person applies for a visa unless  they apply with a new or a second passport.

Comet will still be able to help our clients to apply for a visa. You may send us the applications as usual and we will book an appointment at the Embassy for the applicant where he/she will be able to leave fingerprints.

If the applicants need their passport to visit Sweden, please send Comet a copy of the passport along with the rest of the documents.

New requirement at the Embassy of Angola is postponed.

Due to technical issues, the Angolan authorities have decided to postpone the implementation of the requirement of fingerprints when applying for Angolan visas from September 1, 2016 to January 1, 2017.
The current application process is applicable, but if any customer would like to be prepared for next year, the possibility to leave their fingerprints will be available at the Angolan Embassy in Stockholm.

Legalization – Brazil, Chile and Morocco join the Hague Apostille Convention.

Brazil, Chile and Morocco are joining the Hague Apostille Convention in August, thereby simplifying the legalization of documents.

The dates of entry takes effect as follows:
Brazil, August 14th 2016.
Morocco, August 14th 2016.
Chile,  August 30th 2016.

After these dates, documents issued in other member countries will only require an Apostille to be valid.

Please note, that documents with an Apostille, dated prior to the entry dates should still be valid as long as it is submitted to the local entities after the entry date.
Comet do advise all to check with their local partners first, as the validity may vary depending on type of document and member country.
